Destiny's story is a testament to growth, leadership, and success—fueled by the opportunities and mentorship provided through Junior Achievement (JA) and the East Baton Rouge (EBR) School System.

Her JA journey began in elementary school with the JA in a Day program, where she was introduced to fundamental financial literacy and work readiness skills by a dedicated JA mentor. This early exposure laid the foundation for her future success.

In middle school, Destiny advanced to the Finance Park curriculum, where she participated in a personal finance simulation that challenged her to "become an adult for a day." Through this hands-on experience, she gained valuable insight into budgeting, decision-making, and financial responsibility.

By high school, Destiny was ready to give back. As a member of her school’s DECA club, she took on a leadership role by teaching JA in a Day to a local elementary school, passing on the knowledge she had gained. Her commitment to learning and mentorship didn’t stop there—she entered JA's Trust Your Crazy Idea Challenge, where her entrepreneurial spirit shined. Winning first place in the local competition earned her a scholarship for college, and she went on to claim first place again at the state level, securing even more scholarship funds.

Most recently, Destiny returned to work alongside JA, conducting speed interviews with students at Scotlandville High, bringing her full circle in her JA/EBR experience. Now, as the Marketing Director at Southern Teachers and Parents Federal Credit Union, she attributes much of her career success to the mentorship and experiences provided by JA.

Destiny’s journey exemplifies the lasting impact of JA programs, proving that early financial education and leadership opportunities can shape the next generation of business leaders. Her story is an inspiration to students, volunteers, and supporters alike, reinforcing the power of mentorship and experiential learning in shaping a successful future.
